Diabetes Management

“Every 30 seconds, someone in the world loses their leg to diabetes”
International Diabetes Federation, 2003

Diabetes Australia recommends diabetics see a podiatrist at least annually for a diabetic foot assessment. This will help detect any potential problems. Increased podiatry care is highly recommended for those diabetics assessed as high risk.

The potential effects of diabetes on the feet are often mis-understood or ignored.

FUNGAL NAIL TREATMENT

The Globus Podomed Fungal Nail & MSK Laser is a device that uses laser therapy to treat fungal nail infections and musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. It is designed to penetrate the nail and the infected area with heat, killing the fungus and reducing inflammation and pain. It also stimulates the healing process and improves blood circulation in the affected tissues.

  • It is safe and painless, with no side effects or damage to the surrounding skin.

  • Takes only minutes per nail

  • Most cases require one treatment per week for 6 weeks with follow up review at 3 months

  • Your Podiatrist will professionally prepare the nail and remove as much affected nail prior to treatment and as required ongoing

  • Education is also provided on how to best manage recurrence of fungal nails

Prior to your podiatry consultation please ensure any nail polish has been removed.
