Alison is a Registered Nurse with 20-years experience in community nursing.

Alison developed an unwavering passion for wound care early in her career. The last eight years she has dedicated to wound specific care, focusing on chronic wounds, such as lower leg ulcers.

​

Alison has a post graduate diploma in wound management, certificates in wound debridement techniques. She is a credentialed wound clinician as of 2019.

​

Alison has conducted research in wound biofilms and the use of novel therapies, such as ultrasonic debridement to assist wound healing.

​

This work is part of her higher degree by research at the University of the Sunshine Coast, where she will complete her Doctorate of Philosophy. Alison has presented at academic and practice-focused conferences and published her work in peer-reviewed publications. Alison is passionate about providing evidence-based client care, and education to undergraduate nursing students, nurses, and any other health professionals responsible for wound care.​
